rexburg visit

we were fortunate enough to get to fly to idaho and visit clay's brother, justin, who was on leave from afghanistan, and the rest of the family and friends!  it was a quick weekend, but it was jam packed with things to do.

we got in late thursday night, so friday we ran errands and wanted to go to dinner. our great and wonderful cousin, roy, offered to watch kort that night so we could go have some fun. off we went to winger's followed by a fun night of shooting guns :) we went skeet shooting and shot clay's new guns.  justin had his .45 which i shot for the first time and i.loved.it! i tell clay i want a handgun so now i know i love them! ha ha it was awesome.

saturday we packed up and went 4-wheeling up to the ice caves.  i didn't get too far to realize there was no way i was going to make it in all the way so i chickened out and went back out and took a nap on the 4-wheeler. clay and quinn had lots of fun though!

i'm surprised they got good pictures because it was extremely dark in there (another reason i chickened out). 

later that night we had a bbq with family and friends. had some great brats, clay and nathan (and annie) were able to shoot clay's .22 in the canal while nicole and i caught up!

we enjoyed going to church sunday with the family. we stopped by auntie mel's afterwards to let her play with kort.  later, christie (my cousin) was able to come over so i could meet little karver and so cousins could play :) he's such a cutie! they just loved looking at each other and kort would get a big smile on his face when their eyes met. so cute.

we later enjoyed some homemade ice cream and kort couldn't get enough of it! he kept reaching out for the spoon and kind of ate the ice cream too. 

we went over to nathan and nicole's that night to get some more time together and play games. kort was being grumpy that afternoon and when we got there. i guess i forgot to burp him because once he did, he was just fine. not but a couple minutes later when we put kort and shae next to each other, we caught this ADORABLE snapshot of them.

kort grabbed shae's hand instantly!!!! we were scrounging for our cameras and luckily got a shot! i.love.it! we sure already miss you guys! it was so great seeing you!

monday i was able to meet up with a couple of other friends, but didn't get any pictures. :( i was able to see sam and her 2 beautiful kiddos, and mindy with her cute braylee who is growing so fast!

we headed for the airport that afternoon. i felt sick the whole time, but thankfully kort ate and slept well this time so i could kind of relax. once we got back to seattle, the stomach churning hit again. it took forever to get our luggage and i just wanted to get home. we were walking across the skybridge and i couldn't take it any longer. i ran the rest of the way to the parking garage, found a garbage can and puked my guts out. oh my heck. i don't know what it was. maybe lunch? i usually don't get sick like that on planes and i was sick before we boarded. i feel much better though even though i feel weak. maybe just a quick flu thing. ugh, nasty though. i haven't thrown up since before clay and i got married. oh well. it felt so good to get back home. it was wonderful being back in idaho, slowing down and being able to relax. i'll admit, it was so nice waking up to peace and quiet, mooing cows, and fresh air. i do love big cities with so much to do, but i miss my roots. until our next adventure, hope you enjoyed :)
